I originally wrote this script to use in New York at the NYU Summer Film Intensive I attended in 1994. It was not chosen as one of the final projects for the course, so I kept it under my hat until I had enough money to shoot it myself. It was written without knowing what kind of locations, interiors or exteriors, I would have access to in New York. So, in a sense, the script was sort of modular while still providing a dramatic drive and structure.
Video/Film Production
Apollo Lager – Tang
Portfolio, Video/Film ProductionThis is another spec TV spot I directed, based on a concept I developed for Apollo Lager.
This concept plays with the idea that perhaps Professor Heywood Floyd, in the fantastic 2001: A Space Odyssey, had actually had a beer or two and that’s what had caused his nap on the iconic Orion space shuttle.
This was shot on 16mm film and edited on the Media 1000.
Apollo Lager – Astronaut
Portfolio, Video/Film ProductionThis is a spec TV spot I directed, based on a concept I developed for Apollo Lager (a new beer that had been launched and has since disappeared).
The concept plays with the idea that every boy (and girls too) at some point or another wants to grow up to be an astronaut. What happens in between is a completely different story. So, the consolation prize in effect is Apollo Lager.
YakBak 2
Portfolio, Video/Film ProductionThis is a spec TV spot I directed, based on a concept I developed with copywriter Stan Raymond while freelancing at CKS Partners. YakBak 2 was a toy that allowed one to record sounds or one’s voice and slow down or speed up the playback to funny effect.
Round Table Pizza
Portfolio, Video/Film ProductionThis is a TV spot I “art directed” as an advertising art director. In other words, I came up with the concept for this spot, a way to advertise at the time Round Table Pizza’s new “green” pizza, the Garden Pesto.
